BBC Radio 4 recently transmitted her radio play Found and she has worked with BBC Drama on both EastEnders and Casualty. Katherine was the inaugural winner of the BBC Cymru Wales and National Theatre Wales, Wales Drama Award and has worked a number of times with both companies. Katherine has adapted a number of fairy tales for theatre her works include The Silly Kings (NTW), The Princess and the Pea / Y Dywysoges a’r Bysen Fechan Fach (Sherman Theatre and Theatr Iolo) and The Ugly Duckling / Yr Hwyaden Fach Hyll (Sherman Theatre). Her most recent plays include Lose Yourself (Sherman Theatre), Thick as Thieves (Clean Break & Theatr Clwyd) and Peggy’s Song (National Theatre Wales). She has twice been a finalist for the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn Prize with her plays Before It Rains (Sherman Theatre and Bristol Old Vic) and Parallel Lines and was awarded the judges prize in the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting for her play Bird (Sherman Theatre and Royal Exchange Theatre). Katherine is an award-winning writer working in theatre, film and television. We have also created an activity pack to get young people engaging with even more of the production, its characters and themes. Having looked very carefully at the situation in light of yesterday’s announcement, it is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel all performances of The Elves and the Shoemaker / Y Coblynnod a’r Crydd from 27 -31 December.
